Féin Concern

BBC Spotlight last night broadcast an hour-long edition about Maíria Cahill (above, pictured with Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams) and her claims of sexual abuse and rape against an alleged IRA member and an alleged subsequent coverup by Sinn Féin.

Spotlight is repeated tonight on BBC Two NI at 11:20pm.

Ok, this is totally beside the (awful) point, but how do you pronounce her name? Maw-ee-ree-ya? I’ve never heard of that before.

And Gerry Adams said, “You know, sometimes they’re that manipulative that the people who have been abused actually enjoy it.”

F*cks sakes – the IRA were happy enough to shoot alleged touts on flimsy or hearsay evidence why didn’t they just take the abuser out and put a bullet in the back of his head?

According to her, they tried to put the responsibility for that decision on her head. They had him under house arrest and they implicitly asked her if she wanted him shot. She said she didn’t want that hanging over her. When she said she wanted to go through the RUC she was told that they’d have to let the guy go, and that they couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t “run into him”.

Serious scumbaggery…and if Adams did say what she says he said…Jesus…
