It is a good piece, though I could do with less of “the perception matters more than the reality”. That’s what replaces thoughtful politics with PR.
Very true, although you could argue that the point he was making was that even at a very base level of politicking they are making a mess of it.

The Examiner is often very good, isn’t it? Their columnists are certainly less weird than the Times crowd.

Agree. This morning at breakfast, I was faced with some tripe about child mannequins having breasts. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to write about.
