I am French and I disagree with your sentiment. I think the Times is correct, because an uncensored photograph takes away from the fact that a person who happened to be a policeman was executed on the street in broad daylight in my home city.

I think how you feel about it means sweet eff ay. The guy has a family and some friends somewhere. It’s cruel, it’s exploitative and it’s unnecessary.

Dislike the use of extremists. They were Muslim. Let’s call it as it is. Their beliefs are not extreme for Muslims, just right thinking civilized people.

    1. f_lawless

I like where you’re going with this..maybe we need to force Muslims to wear some kind of star and crescent badge so we can spot these extremist killers more easily. Better yet, we could ship them all off to work camps where they can actually contribute to our society.
..It’s sickening when a terrorist act committed by the few like this happens, how so many are emboldened to air their deeply racist, ignorant views in public.

    2. Sidewinder

Yes and all Catholics think placing a bomb under the car of a PSNI officer is totally cool.

  2. Right you are

Great stuff in the IT. Lara Marlowe writing on the lead. A well known critic of Islamic extremism. I wonder how long it takes to blame Israel for this one.

  3. Twunt

Do you hear the one about the trinity lecturer who is for freedom of speech but who has has threatened to use our blasphemy laws to suppress our freedom of expression? No?

I guess the right on, liberal lefties don’t want to call this man what he is, just in-case someone even more right on might call them racist.

    1. ABM

Did you hear the one about the Irish “homophobia” watchdog? An anal inspection is a prerequisite for a job in this new quango.

Heaven forbid someone might remind one of these egg shell gays that their behaviour is wrong, is contrary to human nature and that the love they believe they’re experiencing is not authentic (and may even be damaging to the person, and to society at large).

      1. thefatlad

Ahhhhh I’ve missed you ABM. My life hasn’t been filled with enough unrelated f*ck-nuttery lately.

    2. Sidewinder

I guess you’ve searched the entire world of communications and discovered that not one “leftie” anywhere ever is willing to condemn this guy for being asshat for this and for many other reasons.

    3. louislefronde

Do not confuse Liberals with Lefties. They are not the same thing! There are some in Ireland who call themselves Liberal, but in truth they belong to the reactionary left which is dogmatic, intolerant and therefore illiberal.

      1. Twunt

I am only to happy to be corrected on this, but the the best of my knowledge RTE and the Irish Times refuse to confront or condemn him for his intolerant ramblings. Can you imagine the uproar if a lecturer in said Catholic girls could not marry Jewish boys ? Yet when this bigot says it nobody confronts him.

Broadsheet and the Journal have removed lots of comments, many of which do not breach their own guidelines, but some of which do offend the sensibilities of this asshat of a primordial man.

  4. Kevin

Fair dues to the Examiner for printing one of the reactionary cartoons. Shame the others featured for the most part didn’t.

    1. louislefronde

That’s because they are cowards. Political correctness is a form of censorship, derived from Maoist ideology.

What is in the mind of the editors of the indo, the times, the sun and the daily mail ! Front pages showing a still picture of a video, that has been removed from the net and on the television, showing the last moment of an injured policeman which has been finished off by a bullet in the head seconds after that!!!
I think this is glorifying, violence and violent extremism in order to sell paper.
Kids and teenagers can see these pictures!!! How are you supposed to explain that to them?
I cannot explain such fanatic behaviours to myself, so how can I explain this photos to my kids?
    Irresponsible!
