They often make up the initial price with the reduced items – e.g. was €2.50, now €1.53..when the long dated stuff goes for €1.54 on the shelf..the crafty devils.

The price displayed is for 750ml (smaller bottles on the right). The reduction seems to be on 1 litre bottles.

750ml Bottle is € 0.67 (ie 67 cent) in Bergamo, Milan, where Pellegrino is bottled….go figure as they say.
