I prefer Her Excellency The Rev. Sir Doctor Stephen Tyrone Mos Def Colbert, D.F.A., Heavyweight Champion of the World✱✱ featuring Flo Rida La Premiere Dame De France
But seriously, without Jon Stewart we would not have Stephen Colbert or John Oliver in their current incarnations.
I feel Jon Stewart’s heart hasn’t been in it for the last year or two and he has dropped a couple of hints since Christmas that this move may have been on the cards.
Damn! Jon Stewart is a legend! So is Stephen Colbert. Can’t believe both of them will not be around poking at America’s idiotic sores
Ralph
John Oliver is doing a pretty good job! Weekly show though.
stuff
Larry Wilmore is doing a very good job so far in the Colbert slot – it’s a very different beast of a show with over half of it being a round table and it having really a single issue per night but it’s a great different take so far that really does highlight a black American voice that I have to admit has already made me realise how little I have been experienced non white voices in that concentration.
One Dub
Agreed.
Larry Wilmore is doing an excellent job. He’s funnier than Colbert.
Colbert was right to quit when he did. – The format was running thin. The Republicans were on to him, except for Bill O’Reilly, who’d shoot his own Grand-mamma to sell a book. He’ll be a brilliant replacement for Letterman, albeit in a new persona.
Jon Stewart will go on to do better things, like Rosewater, or better than Rosewater.
At the end of the day we get rid of this ‘Letterman’ bloke, whoever he is, we gain Larry Wilmore, and Jon Stewart is eating spinach.
-What could go wrong?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot what I came here to say; Jon Oliver is an annoying, shouty dickhead.
Thank you.

The canned laughter at unfunny words is soul destroying if you bother to watch it more than once.
I’ve watched this with Americans who love it.
Lines that result in guffaws of laughter from the studio audience barely raise a smile.
There might be one vague chuckle throughout the show.
That’s enough evidence for me.
Anytime the “studio audience” are roaring laughing and you are smiling – that’s canned laughter folks.

You’ve blinded me with science!
Yes, of course a roomful of giddy superfans will remain as stoic as the audience at home.

Poor Derval. It’s all right to admit you’re wrong about a thing pet. Your little weenie won’t fall off or anything.

Tough shoes to fill for the next fella
Clobert?
He’s already signed up to replace Letterman when he retires.
No, you’re thinking of Steve Colbert
Aah, this confusion’s killing me.
Ciaran, Tony meant to reply to Newsjustin cos he spelled Colbert ‘Clobert’.
Tony, Ciaran thought you were offering Colbert as a replacement to Stewart on the Daily Show so he explained the he’s got a prior engagement.
Either that, Tony, or you’re genius at causing these clusterderps.
Clusterdreps?
I’m sticking with Clobert.

Ah jaaaazuz…nooooooooooooo. his level of hotness just can’t be replaced.
My wife’s already in mourning. Not for her rapidly retreating youth or the fact of matrimony to me but the imminent departure of her loverboy.
Those thighs, though

Canned laughter from a live audience? er…
Listen carefully….it’s a mixture of both.
