Do you like craft beer?

Sadhb Higgins writes:

Dublin’s favourite food festival, Dine in Dublin returns this weekend for the sixth year running from Monday 23rd February through to Sunday 1st of March and Gotham Café is kicking things off in supreme style with its quirky craft beer tasting night, what better way to spend a Monday?

Over 50 restaurants are participating this year working with the very best of fresh local produce, cooked to perfection and served up in style with quality festival offers available from the city’s most loved eateries.

This year is set to be bigger and better than ever with an exciting programme of events lined up including the Dine “Food Pavillion”, Disco Brunch with Dine in Dublin, Wine & Dine in Dublin at Ely IFSC and collaborations with Easons and Arnotts showcasing super chef demos from your favourite foodie authors and a host of special offers you won’t want to miss!

To celebrate the launch of Dine in Dublin 2015 we want to offer a Broadsheet reader and a friend the chance to attend an exciting Dine in Dublin event – Gotham Café’s craft beer tasting night hosted by Cameron Wallace of Cork’s Eight Degrees Brewery. Enjoy a night of foodie fun as Cameron talks you through a tasting session of some of his more popular brews while you soak up the city’s favourite pizza pies and delicious craft beers. Event takes place on Monday 23rd from 7pm til late.T o enter, just complete this sentence:

‘I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had as even my spellchecker does not stop for “t” unlike the Irish cricket team.’

That’s odd/weird – it say “ickets” on the broadshet home page but spells it correctly on the reply page!

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had where I finished a contract (so I’m now unemployed), had a contract cancelled (Yay, more unemployment!!) and I found out I need to get two teeth extracted. That’ll happen on Tuesday. I won’t be able to eat for three days afterward so that tasty Gotham ‘za could be a last supper of sorts.

The last thing you need is to take to the drink. It could push you over the edge! Stay stroing, go for a run, meet friends.

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had plucking pheasants. You see, I’m not the pheasant plucker, I’m the pheasant plucker’s son, I’m only plucking pheasants ’till the pheasant plucker comes

I deserve the dine in dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had because my beard got stuck in the chain of my fixie when I was listening to some congolese afro funk with some of the guys from kila.

‘I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had because my mam passed away at the weekend and I was on meds for a week which meant I couldn’t drink, so had nought to numb the pain. It sucked :(

so far I have seen four houses or meant to, one was a damp kip in a basement, one the landlord never showed up, the other one we couldnt make because of work and the other one I was out bid. Im sitting here about to go out for the afternoon to help work and I’ll get back late tonight. I need to relax….flaps

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets because my house is being sold, which really isn’t great, my friends are all simultaneously on the rag and are acting like thundering bitches (full-moon much), I’m generally feeling despondent and un-appreciated, my boy-friend is the human equivalent of a sloth and my rabbit hates me. I think a drink might help

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had initially stuffing my face with pancakes and pancakes and pancakes, only to wake up on Wednesday to find it would be 40 days and 40 nights until my next pancake.

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had because I discovered my drivers license has been two years out of date, I’ve had to go back to night college to repeat exams and I discovered my pancakes aren’t very good either. A nice drink would help and 8th degrees is one I particularly like

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had since my boss went on holidays leaving me dealing with a pile of work and so he wont notice my delayed and slightly hungover start to a Tuesday morning.

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had, for tomorrow is my birthday (for real). and as my birthday doubles as ‘the global celebration of all things deadly’ the planet is invited to join me in doing something deadly that uplifts your soul and helps your fellow human. and for this, craft beers are essential.

I deserve the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets particularly after the week I’ve had, considering it all started when I missed Sunday mass last week, tried to log on online but my Internet was down and naturally (despite being 29) my father wanted to know what the mass was about and there’s no foolin’ him, there’s only so many times you can use the ‘it was a letter from saint Paul to the Corinthians’ Line. Then I missed my extension period to pay a speeding fine so I’m looking at 5 points on my license and the missus hasn’t had her wotsits in 6 weeks.all in all a great week .. So far.

I don’t know how this makes me deserving to be given the Dine in Dublin craft beer event tickets, but the week I’ve just had hasn’t been the most pleasant. First my 5 year old brought back a vomiting bug from school and kept me awake all night clearing up after the mess and stopping her from crying. Then just as we thought it was all over, Mrs Stash succumbed to the nasty bug and I was back on hair holding duty.

Luckily her dose only lasted 1 night, unluckily our 2 year old obviously got jealous of all the attention everyone else was getting and decided to get in on the act. Two days of constant washing machine noise later – all was well in the Stash household. At least until this morning, when it decided it was overdue my turn to hug the porcelain bowl all day long.

So basically, I can’t think of a better way of re-hydrating after all that than with a few craft beers @ Gotham. Just don’t tell my doctor ;)
