Trainee medics should not express shock,
If approached by a senior doc,
Your career’s on the line,
If you don’t please the swine,
So kneel down and take care of his cock.

Proof positive that just because someone is educated to the level of Doctorate does not necessarily mean they are in any way an intelligent human being on issues other than their specialist field.
What a tool.
…or maybe just provoking debate…. to sell a book… it would seem so.
There is a point of view that her words were designed to provoke a reaction and action.

Her words have certainly grabbed the headlines, in a way that the ‘normal’ statements wouldn’t.
She might just be trying to sell a book, also.
I read that bit too…. the cynic in me says it was done for the book.
What kinda pay increase is the cynic offering you?
I’ll ask myself that later…. when I understand the question :)
I butchered it, don’t spend too much time on it.
That’s a bit harsh on Moynes.
This was actually one of his more moderately reasonable efforts
This was definitely taken out of context.
What was taken out?
The cat. In an Al Pacino way.
She needs to clear all this up with a Vincet Browne appearance. C’mon in lads.
Are you ACTUALLY serious.
She should go onto Vincent Browne and answer questions about how much sexual harassment/assault she’s tolerated. Is this the 1960s?!
I really didn’t read it as her advocating giving in the sexual harassment, just that in Australia the system punishes those who speak out about it.
Did you even read it?
‘And, realistically, she would have been much better to have given him a blow job on that night,” Dr McMullin said.
“What I tell my trainees is that, if you are approached for sex, probably the safest thing to do in terms of your career is to comply with the request; the worst thing you can possibly do is to complain to the supervising body’
Yes I read it. And it comes across as her taking the piss because of the insanity of the situation.
I think you are right.
People just take everything way to literally.
What you have here is people essentially grabbing the banhammer and going on a shame crusade because they are either to arrogant or naive to accept something uncomfortable being pointed out by someone who actually knows what they are talking about.
Like the this comment section. “She’s a tool!” “She’s trying to sell books!”
but less “She is a female surgeon who knows other female surgeons!”.
The sexual abuse support groups who are condemning her would want to take a long hard look at themselves.
I guess all the dodgy hand dropping male doctors from around the world will be contemplating a move to Australia now…..
This has given me a new business idea. I am going to market tasers to female trainee doctors “don’t complain about his sexual advances , use your Drogg brand taser to shock him in the balls and use your superior medical skills to keep him alive when you do so”
I’ve heard the exact same thing said of newspapers.
Australia is a good 30 years behind the rest of the world. A nation of knuckle draggers.
