Three grand marshals?

Mark writes:

2015 will be a momentous year in Irish history, as the Marriage Equality Referendum seeks to move Ireland towards a future of equal citizenship, where civil marriage would be open to all. Irrespective of outcome, Dublin Pride has moved to celebrate this historic year and the efforts being made toward positive change, by announcing the 2015 festival theme as The Future is Equal.
In keeping with this one of a kind year, Dublin Pride has also announced not one, but three Grand Marshals to lead TheFutureisEqual Dublin Pride Festival for 2015. Grainne Healy, Chairperson of Marriage Equality, Brian Sheehan, Director of GLEN [Gay and lesbian Equality Network] and Mark Kelly, Executive Director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, have all been chosen for their organisation’s outstanding contribution to the 2015 Yes Equality campaign and the positive and equal future it promotes….

    Great!
Also there will be the (last – hopefully) annual March for Marriage on the 17th of May…

  2. Just sayin'

I hope they’ve checked the legal position in case this is regarded as expenditure in favour of a specific referendum outcome. There maybe SIPO implications.

      1. Clampers Outside!

        And lobby groups.

Although their powers of enforcement in that area presently are very weak. Hence, no investigation into the funding of YD or Iona Institute and the assumed (‘known’ IMO) heavy funding from US Christian fundamentalists and their groups.

If you’ve ever any questions for them, I’ve found them to be most accommodating and helpful in the past – http://www.sipo.gov.ie/en/
