Above from left: Sinn Féin Cllr Emma Murphy, Padraig Mac Lochlainn TD, Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald TD, Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams TD and Mayor South Dublin County Fintan Warfield.

It’s not the blummin’ Maze.

Incendiary giggling and frivolity at the launch of Sinn Féin’s Campaign for a Yes Vote in the Marriage Equality Referendum at Buswell’s Hotel, Dublin.

Harrumph.

Don’t worry, a police-supporting RNU Dissident leader will be along any second to explain the Freudian reason for your disgust.

Ha, as someone who has been actively (but not politically) involved in the Yes campaign , I have never seen as many cliques, gangs, pettiness, preening, bitchiness and internal squabbles in any campaign I’ve been involved in. IMO Sinn Fein are a welcome ally in the campaign, they will have credibility where lots of the other groups won’t.

Have to say SF have a creditable record of supporting equality on the other side of the border, challenging the gay blood ban, campaigning for marriage equality, marching shoulder to shoulder in the Pride parades and heartily condemning gay-bashing. Fair play to them in that regard.

Yep. I’d also suggest that for the duration of the campaign, other differences should be put to one side. All the bickering and name-calling can start again when the referendum is passed.

SF has been unwavering supporters of the Gay movement for a very long time. Unlike the recent ‘converts’; along with Labour/SDLP they have consistently argued that gay equality benefits everyone.
        Credit where it is due.

+1 FF and FG are the recent arrivals here, welcome and all as they are.
Credit to the Green party too – when I was organizing the protests at the Russian Embassy in 2012 Eamon Ryan was the only TD to show up and support.

And if you sit on your hand until it’s numb you can pretend it’s her. Just like he pretends to be she.

Do you think she strokes Aengus O’Snodaigh’s chin and blows in his belly-button and gurgles “oooh, kutchee” and Aengus’s ears twirl? I wouldn’t put anything past them!

Is this not political opportunism by SF. they got it wrong in the Senate
referendum, is there an anti gay rump laying the long grass ready to inflict
mortal blow to uphold their moral values…..? “they haven’t gone away” you know.

Let’s talk about the real issue here, the elephant in the room, which everyone seems to be conveniently side stepping : Is that butter cream or real cream on those buns?
