This caught my attention in Maynooth Co.Kildare and I had to share it because it seems so unusual. Is it just me or is this a little sign of frustration?
Interestingly diesel is only cheaper as Revenue charge less in duty. In many countries, the UK for example, diesel is more expensive….. Because of duty….

But surely the cost of the crude oil, and its refinement, is, from the customers’ pov, borne by the oil company. Which significantly increases the amount paid to oil company.

I worked in a petrol Station way back in the 1990s and the situation was the exact same. I recall our manager telling us when petrol was 77p a liter that if there was no duty we could sell it for 22p a liter and still make the same profit.
