Saw one just now that said 2015: Vote yes for marriage equality. 2016: Vote no for austerity. It annoyed me.

Not really in line with non-confrontational messaging that Yes have pushed in an attempt to bring middle Ireland along with them.

Not that I disagree with it. But it’s typical of the statements from Joe Higgins about ‘using this referendum as a way to smash the relationship between the Church and State.’ In and of itself a reasonable goal, but may possibly scare off wavering voters.

if “Discrimination Damages Lives” is considered confrontational or a controversial statement by the opposition, it says more about them than the author.

Seriously, you think that’s aggressive somehow? It’s just the truth.

Say NO to bin charges! Screw the environment! Don’t pay, the Government won’t be able to penalise you etcetera etcetera.

Encouraging people to incur debts for their own greasy political ends.

I think they’ve backed a winner on the ant-austerity issue, the garda corruption issue, the repeal the 8th issue, etc. They’re the most effective opposition in the Dail by a long shot.

The vote yes posters the other parties have put up are universally awful, at least this has good composition and use of colour, and minimises the logo of the issuer
