Irish Times reports:

“Google has once again been named as the most reputable and trustworthy organisation in Ireland, according to the latest RepTrak study of corporate reputations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, after a year of scandals which rocked the Government, Irish Water had the worst reputation in the public’s eyes”.

“The State’s newest utility received a score of 9.3, well below the 43.3 achieved by Bank of Ireland, which was ranked 99th.

The RepTrak study, compiled by the Reputations Agency, ranks the 100 largest and most visible organisations in Ireland based on 4,900 responses from the general public.”

“The Irish Times retained its status as the Irish media organisation with the best reputation [ahem] and was ranked 43rd overall. RTÉ and TV3 were ranked 48th and 60th respectively with Independent News & Media achieving 89th position in the top 100.”

i’m surprised it received 9% at all – even if you are in favour of water charges (i am not) , it’s sham.

company that screws the taxman and the public voted highest. Company having to tax the public scores least. Yep – that’s Ireland

It’s semi-legitimate to have a conservative political view that little people pay taxes and businesses don’t (one I disagree with), but you can’t really agree that Google should pay nothing while the local bakery or shoe shop pays a wad?

Good to see I wasnt the only one thinking this. IW may be dodgy…but they’re in junior league compared to the great “Dont be evil” bullshit makers

Particularly funny as people were really worried about IW selling their details yet google has done this on a regular basis and thats fine….people are odd
