-this typing is exhausting me out.

Hey, that new Star Wars, eh..?
        It might be good.

A delivery truck making a stop to a local business. Get a life or better yet phone the Dublin Street Parking Services if it bothers you that much

no, really, it was *never* OK to park on the footpath. Or the double yellow line. Or at a junction.

Those restrictions ARE THERE FOR A REASON. danger, inconvenience and consideration to other citizens are three that come to mind.
Going about one’s daily business does not excuse that. How difficult would it be to park correctly and trolley the goods to and from the truck?

I’d have no issue with emailing the photo to the company suggesting an improvement in their staff’s civic awareness.

At least you took the time to take a picture of it instead of getting on with your life

Well i was waiting for the cars beside me clear, before trying to get around him. So i wasn’t going anywhere for a bit.

It’s a Merc, with it’s hazzard lights on. Merc and BMW drivers can park wherever they like once the hazzards are on.

  4. Rapscallion

Pallas Foods absolutely the worst offenders across the city. They park anywhere with not thought or consideration for the other road and footpath users.

So true. James’s st and Lord Edward st. In the bike lane every morning.

He or she doesn’t seem to be doing any actual harm, and maybe s/he’s watching from nearby and will nip out and move as soon as a problem arises. Perhaps people on Broadsheet should reserve their outrage for actual rather than potential harm to others. We don’t want to wind up like the poor cycle nazis, ranting at everyone who doesn’t bow down to their ethical superiority…

Oh, so if I had got smooshed he would have moved the truck so the paramedics could scoop me off the road.

Sound man. I take it all back.

  6. Bacchus

he’s not doing any real harm, there’s plenty of room at that junction and feck all parking for a truck that size anywhere around there.
Get a life, you know… that thing every one has?

Try doing business around Dublin, you’d have a collection of a dozen photos/videos by midday. Inadequate amount of loading spots, Rathmines/Ranelagh/Bray are a nightmare. I had a call I had to give up on last Wednesday because I couldn’t get a legal parking spot, Pallas driver won’t have the option.

Not actually blocking anyone. Most people accept that trucks have to get their deliveries in, and some times need to do a little cheeky park for a few mins. Absolute non story.

Me and all me mates used to dream of driving a delivery van/truck.
Somehow it never worked out like that for any of us.

I’t’s not a problem…We all converted to Hindu and sure you never know…
Next time we might be lucky.

          Sorry.
I sympathise with ALL Delivery Drivers.

It’s not an easy job, and this post is indicative of the ignorance of those who expect their shop shelves to be replenished by helicopter, their buses to arrive on time in rush hour traffic, and a right to moan when it doesn’t go that way because they stopped off for a coffee.

I was only taking the piss out of that attitude.

I KNOW that Delivery-Men are the backbone of our economy.
I KNOW they don’t get paid properly.
I KNOW the abuse they get for being Polish, (although the vast majority of them aren’t.).

          So, eh…
          Vote YES.

In the Roman Empire, all deliveries were done after nightfall. Had it sorted, them Romans.

Why is the license plate blurred out? The plate is public and it’s a public place. No need to protect the not so innocent

  11. Supercrazyprices

Don’t mind a quick stop for a delivery but that’s not a great place to choose.

But in defense of delivery truck drivers, too many loading bays are illegally used by ‘Moms’ and their SUVs dropping in to pick up something and taking an hour to do it.
