You really are the worst troll we have had on BS. Even worse than ABM, who was at least entertaining at times. You just give standard homophobic insults, I mean where is your finely honed troll craft? Don’t we deserve that at least?

      2. Spaghetti Hoop

No. I meant as I wrote, a heterosexual one.
(The ‘standard’ referred to the photo.)

      3. Gav D

        1/10.

Poor grammar, repetition of intent, “no true scotsman” fallacy. You could one for signing your name.

Must try harder. Have a chat with the current ABM.

Cast your mind back to EVERY election EVER STAGED.

Now think of the smiling politician casting his vote.

Of course photos are allowed in polling stations.

      1. Spaghetti Hoop

But if selfies – and badges – are banned, shouldn’t these staged ones be banned also?

        1. rotide

Selfies aren’t banned. Just because the film critic here says something does not make it so :)

Lucinda will be back into Fine Gael now that the Marriage Referendum is over. Oh hang on there might be an abortion referendum. She’ll wait for that to pass and then rejoin Fine Gael. Oh no hang on, she needs to pretend to be an alternative to Fine Gael in the next GE and then offer to support them in Government and THEN rejoin Fine Gael.

    1. figleaf

She’s actually been campaigning for a Yes vote. She thinks it will help hide her dragon horns.

      1. Tá Frilly Keane

Lucinda, and especially her trap, better remember this when the Biggie swings around again

        Equality is a hard fact

        And not a trend

And not something you can dabble in
        seasonally or politically

        Ha. Just thinking.
Lucinda isn’t the only one that would do well to remember this when the Biggie rolls in again

      1. donkey_kong

i meant in the staged sense.
Snogging while casting a vote is staged – snogging while dancing to donna summers is not.
        ya see?

why if one is critical of same-sex [insert anything] you get the foolish comments that you may be uncomfortable.

I like my bisexual porn as much as the next guy unfortunately is the only proof I can offer in my defence. and of course I have the obligatory gay friend that we all must have to be considered worthy of anything anymore.

        1. Don Pidgeoni

A referendum on SSM and they asked a gay couple to kiss while voting? Well, I never, too dramatic for me.

Of course they are going to get pictures like this, just as they will of Archbishop Stinkypants or whoever voting. That’s what photographers do.

        2. YourNan

I find the wench holding the sprog far more guilty of “put upon dramatics” then a couple sharing love. get your values right son.

    1. Nially

Yes, ’cause only the first photo is put-upon dramatics. The others are entirely natural and unstaged, obvs, as are all other voting photo opps ever.

This is why people call you and your ilk “homophobic”. You’ve wised up enough to not display open disgust, but the way you react to stuff like this speaks volumes about your discomfort towards homosexuality in general.

      1. donkey_kong

the other photos are of people sticking the vote in the box.
The first is more than that – staged.

on your homophobic slur – whatever!
I have no discomfort – an illusion that exists in your paranoid head.

critical comment doesn’t mean homophobia if it did I’d have slagged off that nice TD Lyons and his mam,

        well?

        1. Mani

I think he owes you an apology. You’re not homophobic. You’re just a standard moron.

  2. Just sayin'

I really don’t want to see anyone – gay, straight, whatever – kiss while they vote. Its creepy. Save it for the non-voting part of their lives.

    1. YourNan

what’s with showing affection in public, jeezus, hit the shrink’s couch man, u got them.

    2. rotide

I sort of agree with that, but it’s easy short-hand for ‘look at d’gays voting’

I’m only surprised there hasn’t been a bride and groom combo photo yet

      1. Stewart Curry

You have to have the bride and groom photo – it would be like having leaving cert results day without pictures of girls jumping in the air

    3. Rowsdower

I wonder did they have embittered couples serving each other papers as they voted yes for the divorce referendum.

  3. mark stedman

As the man taking first photo I can say in all honesty they are lovely guys who are very much in love and I feel very proud that they would share such a moment on such an important day with me.

  4. Kieran NYC

Fortunately for young Martin, it looks like he gets his hair from the mother’s side of the family!

    *swoon* is right.

  5. Andymac

No doubt from here on in we will be subjected to more disgusting images of homosexuals kissing.
