Battle of Waterloo… lead by an Irishman, supported by Prussians, and over 1/3 of Wellington’s soldiers were Irish. A British Imperial win, they said…. oh, how we laughed.
I spent an afternoon at the Waterloo battlefield a few years back. Every blade of grass oozes history. The 100 square feet around the front gates at Hougemont represent an extraordinary hub of the entire history of Europe and the World. I just cant recommend visiting the place enough.
