I was trying to think a way to put this into words and you nailed it. The press has gone into overdrive on this one.

Don’t be such a twit, the largest single loss of Irish life abroad since the Congo! 7 still receiving medical treatment 2 critical all injuries life changing .
It’s a significant national tragedy, if people feel prayer will help well good for them
Mister Mister
Let them pray, but that is not praying, it could even be called vandalism.

Could at least have collected their own rocks. Those rocks used to spell out ‘mayo for sam’.

It’s significant but it happened over a week ago yet the indo have as headline news. I don’t remember the seven that died in a car crash getting a fraction of the coverage.

Probably because the bodies of 4 of the victims and their families returned to Dublin yesterday. I would think that is significant news for the next day

Indeed. They didn’t get books of condolence or Presidential statements either. To my mind, a significant difference is that this impacts families in the South Dublin media district, not far-away Donegal.

There’s an awful lot of rocks on Croagh Patrick aren’t there? A huge amount of rocks. I’m no good at guessing numbers Ted but I’d say there are about 7 gazillion of them.

Pray for them? Why? Oh, because in Catholic belief it’s not enough that they were killed in a freak accident aged 21 and 22, they’re now in Purgatory sweating off their ‘ sins’ for the next few hundred years. How lovely.

Vandalism I say. The media are really pushing for the mass hysteria on this tragedy but thankfully we are truely upset but handling it like grownups. I did have a conversation at work on if there would have been the same wall to wall coverage if 5 young ones from Ballymun had fell from a dodgey balcony in Benidorm. Bit cynical i know but ony sayin.

Exactly.
Whatever about the though, it’s pretty mindless.
The thought….
It’s all gone a bit Diana hasn’t it?
