This morning.
Thomas Barr won the 400m hurdles at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea 48.78.
The 22-year-old, of Ferrybank AC in Co. Waterford, is the first Irish athlete to win the World University Games since both Sonia O’Sullivan and Niall Bruton both won gold in 1991.

Fair play.
Best fans in the world.
NOW we’re hurdling!
Congrats.
That was some performance! We may be hearing about Thomas Barr a few more times in the future.
Unlikely. Conor McGregor and his minority sport seem to have a monopoly on the nation’s column inches these days.
That was great. Until OLÈ OLÈ.
Fair play, in fairness.
He raised the Barr….. weh-weh!
Fair play an’ all !
Nominative determinism?
Unfortunately I think it’s too late to change my name to Kieran Billionaire :(
