The Terrafugia TF-X flying car is a conceptual design for a twin engined, 200mph, 1 MW, auto piloted air hooptie with vertical take off and landing (VTOL) and a 500 mile range.

When it’s built (in your dreams, our dreams and those of the designers), you’ll simply tell it where you want to go and it will take you there.

Hush now.

It’s a real thing that’s actually happening and that’s that.

I’d love to see that same video with some crazy Irish weather in the background, and how it would cope.

Wings with hinges and rotars attached seems a bit doge; also the wing span is nowhere near wide enough to glide. The vehicle would just fall out of the sky like a brick.

It’s a development of the pretty successful Bell-Boeing V22 Osprey, really, but with folding wings (not really wings, as don’t provide much lift).
