I read this yesterday – very strange complaint.

The GAA and the Camogie Association are two separate organisations; it is hardly the GAA’s fault if the Camogie Association decided not to award a holiday as a prize.

Firstly, the GAA hosted the competition, not the Camogie Association, and there was two separate competitions for male and female contestants. Secondly, neither the GAA nor the Camogie Association association awarded the holiday, a sponsor did. The GAA just awarded medals to both the winners of the male & female competitions.

Regardless of the fact that they didn’t give the holiday, the GAA should have the basic cop on to foresee the type of storm that treating the winners of either competition so obviously differently would bring. Its hugely insulting for the women involved.

The GAA were at best quite naïve,
Not to predict the girls would be peeved.
    A deep source of frustration,
    Not to give a vacation.
    For Catherine did equally succeed.
