Just had a brand new bike stolen in Monkstown area of [County] Dublin. It’s so unusual looking and it’s only been used 4 times!! It’s a Canyon Grand CF5.9 (XL frame), Orange-Grey. Has a black and white Kellys saddle, not the Canyon saddle. Might help identify it…

Urgh… piss boiled, Jebus Christ is there any end in sight…
Good luck, ill keep an eye!
You’d want to tidy up your gaff
Well
That’s Monkstown fur ya
Yes, it’s not what it used to be. Standards are slipping.
Given the online price too much bike to be left somewhere it can be stolen!
It’s remarkable how good bike thieves are at stealing bikes.
€1,500 worth of a bike, but it won’t be on Crimecall, unlike a similar value jewellery heist.
The saddle might be swapped, and other things done to try disguise it. I hope you took note of the frame number and reg’d the bike with the cops.
And later used to chop vegetables
That’s an awful shame, sorry to hear that. What lock were you using? Also, @Broadsheet, would it be worth surveying all the bike theft victims to see how and with what lock their bikes were secured to see what crimbos are capable of?
Matt, we’ll do that from now on. Thank you
I use a ginormous ABUS motorbike lock for my ‘rides’. Haven’t had one stolen in over twenty years. Mind, I’ve barely cycled in that time either.
And then make a map of dublin with a little red dot everywhere a bike theft you have posted has occurred. It can be a permanent feature where others can abuse crime victims locking skills.
you know what would help identify it: The fupping serial number
Check that dodgy bike shop in [REDACTED]; they defo handle stolen gear.
That’s the bloody Dart for you. Brings in all sorts from the inner city.
