Lost Lake in Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest is something of a local conundrum. Filled by mountain streams during Winter, the lake drains down a lava tube, emptying like a bathtub every Spring.
The water is thought to simply disappear into the porous volcanic substrate.
Any attempt to plug the hole would likely result in local flooding, cutting off the nearby intersection of two major highways.

very absorbing.
That really gives you the hole perspective right there
no melancholic guitar soundtrack? what the hell is going on, have we run out of hipsters already?
That lake merely needs a sphincter.
Any attempt to plug the hole would likely result in local flooding, cutting off the nearby intersection of two major highways???
Or you could put a barrier around the hole, keep the lake the desired height and any excess would drain down the hole as normal.
