Phoenix Park, Dublin during the 1979 Papal visit

Paint everything yellow and white,
Because much to Iona’s delight,
We’ll soon have a guest,
Who’s simply the best,
And will set our poor country to right.

Hold on, according the Indo headline he won’t be here for four decades yet…

“Pope set for first visit to Ireland in four decades”

Or…. who’s the moron the wrote the headline?

“World Meeting of Families, – The gathering is one of the most high-profile events for the Catholic Church globally” – so its right that they choose an important cuntry like Ireland so?

  2. Just sayin'

Petty to talk about Iona. I don’t believe in God but would still go see the Pope if he visited. Stop being so narrow-minded, even if including Iona does make it easier to write yet another crappy Limerick.

I’m curious too. As an atheist myself, I can’t think of anything I’d rather not do. Not cause I hate the Pope and what he represents, or something like that, but just cause I have zero interest in most religious figures.
