True Posh Boy in disguise Paul Murphy should be banged up by then giving his constituents some decent representation.

It’s actually fairly sensible. Think of the amount of scandals and controversies the government had just between the budget last year and last February – they didn’t see a whit of a bounce after their budget kicked in.

They’re incompetent – best to go to the polls before any other unforced errors.

Wow – what a massive unconnected coincidence – a capital spend by the government was also announced today of 27 billion euro, 27 billion euro we didn’t have yesterday – a bribe so big it betrays the fear of not getting re-elected, sh1tting their kecks. Ham-fisted, flat-footed, bribery.

Kolmo, we did have this money yesterday. In fact, this is the 4th time this spend has been anounced.
It includes a new children’s hospital, you heard it here last!

My manager in work actually called it out as pre-Christmas about a month ago.
He said no government wants the A&E Depts packed full of old-people on trolleys in Spring when you can call an election on an upbeat Budget. Besides, it would be silly to call an Election for when people are looking at the REAL improvement/otherwise of the budget, at least before Christmas it is an election based on a promise of improvement.

Are they assuming Independent candidates who will struggle to compete with big party candidates in terms of spend and campaign resources, will not be able to put it up t’them in the Cold Dark November days on the Canvas?

    Smart ûnts

All the same, was’nt Ivan very lucky to come out of his U.K. bankruptcy ok, with his full faculties?
He managed to get himself a good job on the radio and even held on to his aul pensions.
Lucky lad allright, and still in there with the old sources, what a performer.

Well, they’re hardly going to have their comfy December Recess hijacked by opposition candidates electioneering.
So this is a believable date.
Just wish we had a poster ban in place in the name of litter-control and visual pollution.

Nice one Ivan ! I’ve got a tenner on with Paddy Power at 3/1 for a 2015 election since last November when it looked like the govt would collapse due to the water charges and that 100,000 strong protest. I’ve been waiting all feckin year for this election so here’s hoping Ivan is on the money
