They’re back.
Sarah Neville, of RTÉ, writes:
“The wild men of Irish comedy, the Hardy Bucks, are back this October Bank Holiday Monday, October 26, on RTÉ2. And in this series, they are joined by well known Irish actresses – Fair City’s Aoibheann McCaul and Susan Loughnane from Love/Hate.”
“In episode one, Eddie Durkan isn’t the man he used to be. Suffering from panic attacks after heavy weekends on the sauce, he feels he needs a woman’s touch to put him back on the straight and narrow and decides to have a go at winning back his ex Noreen – with disastrous results. Meanwhile, arch nemesis the Viper is expanding his weed dealing empire with the clever use of technology.”

was not going to watch until the announcer said ‘starchs’, sides splitting decision made
i reckon they could stretch to a feature length movie,
if these guys are lucky they could even get an international release, and if they could pull it off they would never look back,
i know i’m a dreamer …lol…lol
Best comedy show RTE has ever done
Although that wouldn’t be hard
And RTE didn’t “do” it, the lads had been doing it long before RTE picked it up.
But they already have a feature length movie?
They did do a feature length movie.
I don’t even want to try watching these lads.
I know I’m right.
It just can’t be funny in any way.
I will never know either way.
I’m living.
I really think this could be a top class comedy show if they’d only tighten up the writing, stop improvising everything and get someone to shoot it properly. The characters are brilliantly realised but lets itself down because everything else just comes across as amateurish.
Good craic on the youtube videos but this really is the perfect definition of a joke going too far.
THe only thing I will say about this whole show, apart from it being brilliant for a good while is this –
Part of the brilliance was the fact it was both unbelievable and yet completely relate-able because we all know the types of people being portrayed and exaggerated here. The only problem is now they’d have mostly moved on from their hometowns, leaving maybe the Viper to latch onto a younger generation.
Apart from that it’s great and the euros movie one was brilliant
It is pretty funny alright. But I’ll thank Trailer Park Boys for it.
Tis good shtuff allright. But they might want to quit while they’re ahead.
RTE comedy: As funny as cancer
