Further to last night’s statement from former Fianna Fáil minister Pat Carey following his resignation as the party’s director of elections.
RTÉ reports:
Gardaí are investigating how information in relation to the investigation of a former minister for alleged child abuse became public.
A chief superintendent has been appointed to carry out the investigation.
Garda Headquarters has confirmed that all the circumstances surrounding the disclosure of information in relation to an ongoing criminal investigation are being examined.
…It is the third such investigation into the disclosure of information that has appeared in the media that has been ordered by the Garda Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan.

How is the investigation into the leaks against Clare Daly being arrested going? It happened in Feb 2013 so I guess that file has some layer of dust on it by now

I do however find it amazing that there was no ‘cold chill’ in the media, when came to leaking or reporting that person aboves non involvement in the investigation, I assume the mentioned minister above has ‘A right to his good name’ ? Just made me wonder , what did he do recently to push himself outside the benefit of the doubt club?

Of course he has a right to his good name but he undermined it all on his own-i-o by expecting us all to join him in playing pretend. Weasel words to mangle the truth and pretend this was the first he heard of these allegations. Are you familiar with the concept of going before the court with clean hands? Once the lying starts, shiftiness sets in. Who knows what he did or didn’t do but he’s on the back foot now whether he likes it or not.

Noirin O’Sullivan always looks so out of her depth. She looks like a country mammy dressed up in Garda uniform.
Well previous occupants of the position haven’t exactly looked like Cary Grant.
And if I had to assign Enda Kenny an occupation based on his appearance, I’d probably give him a big twig and send him out catching leaves.
