That’s a Christmas display done right. I command all Dublin 3-based Broadsheeters – yes, even the veggiemitarians – to buy a pound of sausages from Curtis’ shop :)

I used to work around there, the son from that butchers had two big rottweilers, two of the greatest shiteing machines to ever walk the earth.

I lived in East Wall for longer than I care to admit or remember. It’s the saddest, dirtiest, most grey, treeless/ greenless place I’ve ever been. Fair play to Curtis butchers for injecting some tidings of comfort and joy.

I used to live not 6 minuites walk (East Wall Road) from that lovely lovely butchers.
Just as you might expect of people who go to the trouble of doing displays like this their meat was lovely too.

Oh for one (than one) of those small pork chops eaten off the bone sold 2 for £1. Get home, slap the chops under the grill with a mesh trayguard on top ( I wasn’t an animal) and then out to the chippie for a large chips and peas. Which I never could finish.

Dammit I could murder that right now.

i was born in east wall and lived there till i was in my 30’s. I bring the kids over when Paddy has Santa in the shop…. all done for charity and every kid gets a present. Another thing that the EW community do every year is raise a tree at the bottom of Johnny Cullens hill and adorn it with yellow ribbons for the EW diaspora…. great community spirit down there

And the the Hill has finally been repaved, thanks be to jaysus! Many’s a time I was nearly flung off my bike after hitting a 2 foot crater in that road
