U2 tribute act Rattle and Hum

Shane D writes:

Can you ask if any of your readers are in a tribute band or could highly recommend one? We are in the early stages of planning a [indoor] festival [‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’] featuring the most accomplished tribute acts in the country (of all musical genres)… but who should be in the line-up?

Anyone?

in my head there is a band that plays abba songs in the style of the ramones.
    they’re called ‘gabba’.

Speaking of tribute acts, are The Naked Lunch still doing the rounds? Haven’t seen ’em in about 20 years.

how about some Tony St. James & the Las Vegas Sounds….if they’re still knocking about, I think the same lads were also The Joshua Trio..they used to do a great show

more recently was well impressed with The Classic Beatles

+1 Smash Hits, great 90s flash back at the Electric Picnic. I think I had been storing some well practiced moves from the teenage discos!!

Had the Classic Beatles for my wedding and everyone loved them, amazing band. The reason I booked them is because I saw them live and after being cynical and skeptical beforehand (my default position on everything), I was blown away by how good they were. Apparently, none other than George Martin himself said that they were the best Beatles tribute he has ever seen.

Surely there’s an opening for a trio of musical Irish guards from the Gaeltacht doing songs by The Police as gaeilge. Obviously, they’d be called Na Gardaí & their catalogue would include Ag Siúl ar an nGealach, Teachtaireacht i Buidéal & Roxáine

I saw Green Floyd a while back & they were really good. That’s coming from somebody who doesn’t really get tribute bands.

Songs for the Deaf are Ireland’s Queens of the Stone Age tribute and since their debut in Fifth on Teeling, Sligo they’ve played to a packed house in Monroe’s, Galway and are soon to be blowing the roof off Garbo’s venue, Castlebar on Dec 19th. Here’s a wee endorsement from Jesse ‘Boots Electric’ Hughie’s of Eagles of Death Metal

Get onto LEKMK PROMOTIONS, who specialise in booking tribute bands.
They’ve put on big shows in the past.

    Classic Beatles are a must.
