Alone, the charity that supports older persons to age at home, have just launched this lovely video featuring the Christmas memories of three older persons they work with. The aim is to encourage people to remember older persons in their community who may be alone over Christmas, and remind them to call in for a quick visit – even to say hello.

Genuine question: Why ‘older persons’ and not ‘older people’?
It’s more personable language I think, ‘persons’ being plural of ‘person’ but ‘people’ is well… has a connotation of ‘other’ about it…sometimes… maybe I’m just ramblin’..
I think ‘persons’ is more formal, actually. Walked past an old neighbour this evening who asked, “how are your people?”. To me, that was kind of sweet. Obviously I kneed him in the nads in reply.
I bet you missed. Oul lad nads are usually 6 inches lower ghan youd expect.
Nice vid
No elder bury this Christmas readers, seriously.
