Other Voices returns for its 14th series on RTÉ2.
Fergus McCormack writes:
This year, Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1) and Fight Like Apes’ lead singer May Kay (Mary Kate Geraghty) will join music aficionado Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1) on presenting duties.
Grammy nominee Glen Hansard will make a welcome return to the show and for the first time Mercury Prize nominee Gaz Coombes (Supergrass) will take to the stage in St. James’ Church [Dingle, Co kerry].
The new series also features a performance from the ever elusive Keaton Henson and Minnesota based slow-core innovators Low. Also from the US, Shakey Graves will take to the stage and a spellbinding performance from the wonderful Ane Brun is one not to be missed
As always, the IMRO Other Room will showcase five promising artists on the rise – Talos, HAWK, Bitch Falcon, Gavin Glass and Saint Sister. Viewer’s Choice Saramai will feature in an Other Voices Other Room special later in the year…
Other Voices on RTÉ2 at 11.15pm (series runs for five weeks)

Always a good show, even when Hosier was on it….
I am bemused that they went with presenters other than those they could scrounge up in the RTE canteen.
I’m not a fan of Otherkin (the band whose song plays on this ad) but I can respect the relative success they’ve had. However, I can’t respect their musicianship which appears to be pretty poor. The disparity in the tempo they start off at and the tempo they end up at by the time they reach the chorus is ridiculous, there must be nearly 10bpm in the difference. Come on lads, get your poo together.
