I’ve been reliably* informed that lesbians are incapable of having children.

*some guy on youtube said it. My aunt must have been faking it.

I would turn up anyway, make myself look really wholesome and godly, wait until I got in the film and it was released and then tell them.

      Mwahahahaha SHRPRUISE LESBIAN!

Stuff a pillow up your jumper like a good girl. On a related note, am I the only one who.finds the “we just need your image not for you to say anything” vibe a bit creepy. We are iona, please let us put words in your mouth. Yeuckkk

Anyone else up for turning up with jumper bellies on the day?

Oh yes, i can see it now – a sea of women with jumper bellies, shiny kappa slappa tracksuits, hair in rollers, can of valu beer in hand and cig in corner of mouth :)

          Fabulous darling!!

In fairness to them, at least they’re asking for extras who agree with their message unlike the poor unfortunate stock photo models who Iona violated last year.

Ah now. Secretly masterminding a Pro-Life campaign for the sake of 10 extra plane tickets a day?! Only an immoral crook of the highest calibre would resort to such a thing.

We need someone who made the choice we agree with to come help us maintain the ban on making a choice on the godless sluts prone to the ‘other way’ coming down the line.

I’ve always got the impression that regressive trolls like this find it hard to find talented arts people who agree with them, judging by their usual MS Word kind of output and outrageously tone-deaf posters – here’s hoping that holds true.

Artistic skill comes hand in hand with an open mind. It’s not a coincidence that there are relatively few socially conservative artists in comparison to socially liberal ones….at least *good* ones.

      1. rotide

What are you talking about? There’s plenty of “right wing” or conservative artists. Degas and Goya jump to mind as well as a multitude of musicians.

Thats like saying there are relatively few religious scientists which is another nonsense thrown out.

        1. classter

Statistically there are relatively few religious scientists, no?

Relative to the population at large.

        2. MoyestWithExcitement

“Thats like saying there are relatively few religious scientists”

          There are.
“In 2009, the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press polled members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science on belief in a higher power. The study found that 51 percent of members polled expressed such a faith, compared to 95 percent of the American public. Additionally, the National Academy of Science charted belief in God as low as 5.5 percent among biologists and 7.5 percent among physicist and astronomers in a 1998 study.”

I’m pregnant and I recognize that I’m very lucky that this is a pregnancy I hoped and dreamed of, and that I am in a supportive relationship with a good job, and have a decent roof over my head. Not everyone can count themselves this lucky and even if they have all these things there may be other reasons that continuing with their pregnancy is not right for them.

So as I can’t speak for every other Irish woman who will get pregnant, and have no idea how each of them will feel about it, I’ll stay away from any campaign that will try to steer people towards a decision that is none of my business.

      Congrats

      Just remember
      When the time comes
Your best support is not himself or the job
Or having everything done to the gaff

      Its Pain Relief
      Just saying

BTW: perfect response. I couldn’t have said it better meself

    2. Nice Anne (Dammit)

Best of the very best wishes for your pregnancy and good lucks with all the wonderful years of being a Mother ahead of you.

Your compassion for your fellow human beings and your ability to emphasise mean you have half the skills already in place to nurture a young mind.

      Fair dues x

Whom are they targeting with this? Non-believers (in deities) won’t bother for the lack of good argument and branding women as mentally compromised. They make up their own mind and either way.

It leaves them with believers, Who, I assume, are already pro-life by virtue of belief. So, isn’t this a waste of money? Donated money?

But IF they target fellow believers, they are very deep in blasphemy, suggesting god’s message is not enough or optional for the followers. And it’s not just a sin, it’s a prosecutable offense. Innit?

    Go figure…

    1. Lorcan Nagle

It’s a common thing with American Christian sects to “witness” to non-believers. Meaning people who’s beliefs don’t match up exactly with theirs. It appears to be a genuinely held belief that if they can convert people to their particular brand of Christianity this way, even if it’s poaching people from other Christian sects to do so.

The guys in blue hoodies with bible verses that are frequently around town at the weekends appear to be of this ilk. One of them pushed a Jack Chick tract into my hands last year.

      1. nellyb

Oh I see, thanks! Would be nice to know what are indisputable christian foundations and what are not. Looks like ‘life begins at conception’ is not, if “canvassing” required.
Pro-life turned serious question into a eye floater. It’s a shame.
