When should they be registering? Two years into a government term, when it makes absolutely no difference?

    2. MoyestWithExcitement

Yeah! Bleedin’ young people making the pragmatic decision to only get on the vote register when there’s an actual vote coming up. When will they learn?

    3. ReproBertie

Maybe they only turned 18 and were waiting to see if Enda would do the sensible thing for parents of school going children and call the election on a Saturday or during mid-term. Once the election was called for a day they’ll be in college it makes more sense to register at their college address.

What’s disappointing is that you were happy to comment in a moany manner without really thinking first.

Any Candidates Register ?? Or do they still gotta go to Wood Quay ?? Guards love Controlling Queues ?? They’ll miss it once G4 takes over !!

ok so this may stupid question but here goes
I thought you had to get the voting register form signed by the Gardai….how can they just register there?

      1. Owen

Yeah, but they have a standard heavy presence of gards in the IT’s. Can we be sure he’s there for registration and not to stop the drug peddling and prostitution?

        1. Paula

And where did you go trinity?! Because clearly you never stepped foot in an IT. Been there four years and the only time I see a guard there is for times like this. Not the first time DITSU have done this. I think it’s great. They’re being proactive to help their students. So why don’t you get your head out of your ass and stop talking shite

          1. Owen

Jeeze Paula… talk about taking the bait.

Truth be told im a drug peddler and pimp working the IT scene. Guards are all over my sh1t.

It’s a pity there isn’t an exciting and credible alternative to the usual shite to get behind though. We need an Irish Obama! Social Democrats are the best of a bad bunch.

Fantastic stuff. I don’t see it happening but this is FAR more important then the right to marry vote, but you won’t see the people coming back on the plane to make their voice heard for this one. Perhaps if they did the case could be made that Irish citizens living abroad should be afforded to right to vote in their own country almost every other citizen of the developed world.

Perhaps though, these young people will make the difference. I’m assuming that by registering here they will not have to travel to their local parish to have their say?

The more I think about it, the way the Irish electoral system is setup is a effing farcical shambolicks of a Donnybrook fair that highlights how backward and parochial the country still is.

good for them, hopefully they will make the correct decision and vote to get rid of the blushirts and their labour lapdogs

      1. MoyestWithExcitement

I wouldn’t say they appeal to young people because they have youth wings. I’ve heard ‘through the grape vine’ that FF have no interest in courting the youth vote….although they might change their mind after all these pictures.

Is that Doug from Faircity talking to the Gardai? Whats he doing in the Student Union of a DIT?
