Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump savours victory last night in Nevada
That handsome electoral ace,
Is storming ahead in the race,
And if some cheap clown,
Tries to talk Donald down,
He’ll punch the chump right in the face.

I hope he does it. It’ll serve them right.
I’ve been saying since at least last summer that he’d be getting the nomination and would have a serious chance against Clinton. Smuggy smuggy smug. I win. But I also lose.
I’m waiting to laugh at the Dems, the Clintons are bullying their way to the nomination, ably assisted by the Democratic Party power brokers and deal makers… in a Trump v Clinton showdown Trump will beat Clinton.
Dems only hope is Bernie but they’re doing their best to push him off the stage in favour of their attempted coronation of Clinton
+1… I’m feeling that.
If Bernie gets the nod then there will be a third candidate no doubt
Yep, enter Bloomberg to split the vote
Yep. It has to be Sanders. A pished off old man is the best opponent for a scummy old man. Trump has ran a genius marketing campaign. This billionaire has managed to position himself as a man of the people who’ll lead the downtrodden in a fight against the political elite. Hillary Clinton is that political elite and I’m not sure her very skilled spin team will know how to deal with Trump’s tactics. The more aggressive and rude he is, the more support he gets. That is a brand new challenge for spin doctors. They can’t paint him as an arse because he’s doing that himself and getting more popular for it. All his skeletons are out. It’s crazy.
Most Europeans point and laugh, make snide comments, but fail miserably to understand the situation.
US citizens, like our own and in the UK, are entirely disillusioned with the status-quo of establishment politics. They are finally coming to realize that the 2 main parties are 2 cheeks of the same arse. It doesn’t really matter who you vote for, they will betray you.
Democrat focus groups told Hillary that she needed to be more ‘authentic’, to be more ‘real’. The public entirely distrust these ‘actors’, as it is know well know that it is the person behind the curtain that calls the shots.
The reason Trump and Sanders, and Corbyn in the UK, are so popular is that there is nobody behind the curtain. What you see is what you get. There is no pretense. Yes Trump is a gobshite – but you know exactly what kind of gobshite you are getting.
What are you getting if you vote for Hillary, Obama, Cruz, Rubio ?
Obama utterly betrayed his promise of change. This particular genie will not be going back into the lamp any time soon. We are are in for turbulent times.
I don’t think a racist, xenophobe like Trump would float anywhere but in America in fairness.
Australia? Russia?
A good chunk of Eastern Europe and the Balkans?
That pillar of tolerance that is the Arabian peninsula ?
Sadly true.
I’ll get me coat
Nah, Aussies like their racism casual and hidden away, like not providing appropriate healthcare for Aborigines or buying out Cambodia so they send illegal immigrants there or send them to private prisons on islands in the middle of nowhere. That way no one can see and no one can complain.
UKIP?
Good points, Twunt.
I just hope that they find someone more capable and less establishment than Trump.
Boorish, vulgar, arrogant. I can’t think of a more apt avatar for the States on the world stage.
You just described Brian Cowen
A man who plays on the ignorance of his audience to achieve his aims is no man.
Well said
My dream scenario is that he doesn’t get quite enough votes for an outright win. The Republican establishment stitch him up at a brokered convention and pick Rubio or Kasich. Trumps runs as an Independent, the Democrats romp home, and the GOP comes in a poor third.
You say that like having Hillary in the white house is a good thing. It is not.
She is an actor, a front, a puppet, the important question is who is the puppeteer ?
Is it the lizards again? We should never have sent them to circus school.
Every once in a while, instead of making glib comments, try to understand the world around you. Read.
The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it’s everywhere. The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. In fact, the history of the recent financial crisis, which doubles as a history of the rapid decline and fall of the suddenly swindled dry American empire, reads like a Who’s Who of Goldman Sachs graduates.

Well done. You read the same Rolling Stone article everyone else did.
Please never stop making glib comments.
In fairness Twunt, Drebbin said “the Democrats romp home” so it could be Sanders.
It could, but it is very unlikely, the Democrat party will not allow that to happen. The Super Delegates will vote for Hillary. She is their preferred candidate. This nominations thing is a bit of smoke and mirrors, if the party do not like who gets nominated they can ‘overrule’ the nomination. For lots of primaries vote counts are never published, the election officer names the winner.
The Republicans could do the same with Trump, but he has threatened to go it alone if they do, he has the money and the support to do it, thus ensuring that the GoP will not be in the White House.
Interesting times.
The Illuminati, right? No, no, it must be the Wily Jew™ or maybe the New World Order. You got me: who IS the puppeteer?
Something sick in you if you think Kasich, Rubio or Clinton are better than Trump for the average US Citizen
Oh, I agree. They’re all at such extremes of awfulness that trying to distinguish between them is a knob’s errand. The question is how humiliatingly a kindly universe can make them lose.
He is a big (or was) employer in Nevada
just saying
don’t read too much into it like
Even with that it’s still unusual that in a state with such a high hispanic population a politician espousing anti-Mexican rhetoric won.
As a norm, that population are unlikely to be registered Republicans in any significant numbers Bert
Also, it has a very high what the Septics call “Snowbirds” population. Trumps demo.
These primaries are no indication of where the vote swings in the General
You know what? I had thought of that (the registered republican voters thing) but for some reason immediately forgot it. Thanks for the reminder.
