Only way we are to change this little corrupt island is to stop voting in the old guard of FF & FG. Whatever about the others just stop voting FF & FG (& labour obviously).

Social democrats are the way forward, vote independents until the SD get a larger party.

It’s not he that says so, really tho, it’s common sense.

Voting FF/FG and hoping for change is nothing short of insane – voting for change means voting for NEW parties :)

        1. Harry Molloy

I don’t disagree with that clampers, I do disagree with voting for a majority of independents

“Voting FF and FG is nothing short of insane.”

Yes to that. And, though it pains me to admit it, we can add Labour to that too.

And guess who is going on a years travel? Leaving TV 3 and Newstalk? Whose wife had a judgement against her recently? Why, none other than Mr. Bankrupt himself – Yates. This time he’s accompanying the missus. No guesses why.

Vote Social Democrats in the next election. That’s the only way they’ll get a larger party.

“It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see…”
“You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?”
“No,” said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, “nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people.”
“Odd,” said Arthur, “I thought you said it was a democracy.”
“I did,” said Ford. “It is.”
“So,” said Arthur, hoping he wasn’t sounding ridiculously obtuse, “why don’t people get rid of the lizards?”
“It honestly doesn’t occur to them,” said Ford. “They’ve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they’ve voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.”
“You mean they actually vote for the lizards?”
“Oh yes,” said Ford with a shrug, “of course.”
“But,” said Arthur, going for the big one again, “why?”
“Because if they didn’t vote for a lizard,” said Ford, “the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?”
      “What?”
“I said,” said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, “have you got any gin?”
“I’ll look. Tell me about the lizards.”
      Ford shrugged again.
“Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happenned to them,” he said. “They’re completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone’s got to say it.”
      “But that’s terrible,” said Arthur.
“Listen, bud,” said Ford, “if I had one Altairian dollar for every time I heard one bit of the Universe look at another bit of the Universe and say ‘That’s terrible’ I wouldn’t be sitting here like a lemon looking for a gin.”

FF/FG and all their enablers (labour green Lowry Healy-raes rebus etc etc) should be consigned to the rubbish bin of Irish history. Soc Dems need to get more candidates out there stat!

  2. Supercrazyprices

Noonan shouldn’t be in office, he’s not up to the task physically anymore. But he’s implementing an ECB takeover of our economy and they insist he stays in as long as possible.

If another election is forced upon us can we not vote Fine Gael, Fianna Fail or Sinn Fein ever again? They have proven that its Party over Country every time. Can we stop paying them our hard earned taxes until some sort of Government is formed? I’m sick of their nonsense!

    1. MoyestWithExcitement

+1 especially the party over country part. Their goal is winning elections. Governance and effectiveness are incidental.

    2. Harry Molloy

Every party has done the same thing, their mandates are all way too restrictive. I think it’s going to go back to the people and they all need to re-think their mandates to give them some scope to compromise with others, which is what politics and any type of management/relationships are about.

I was surprised watching Claire Byrne the last night, Michael Healy Rae seemed to be speaking more sense than anyone when he stated that every single person and party that is elected has a mandate to attempt to govern and that it requires compromise. (don’t think I can ever forgive him for his approach to the dail though)

So shame on all elected representatives who won’t even attempt to compromise to run this fupping show

    1. ahjayzis

Well after he hounded a dying woman the state infected with a disease to her death he became FG leader.

So I guess he’s their next presidential candidate now?

  4. MoyestWithExcitement

They vote against Martin as well. I hope this pantomime will finally make people start thinking about alternatives to the big 3.

      1. Clampers Outside!

….unless the masses start looking for actual alternatives to the big 3, as opposed to looking for alternatives within the big 3. The latter being the ongoing problem.

        1. Harry Molloy

soc dems are one but they need to fairly exclusive, i.e. only accept a certain calibre, but that will make it hard to grow.

there’s plenty of good individuals in any party, maybe they need to poach

          1. Atticus

If people vote for proper change, i.e. anything other than the big 3, even if it ends in chaos (which I doubt it will), eventually a system will have to be worked out where all the disparate parties have to work together to form a government and then govern the country.

As mentioned previously, voting for the same thing and expecting change is insanity. FG were actually given a mandate the last time to carry out change, but if anything they made it even more of the same, if that’s possible.

          2. rotide

The soc dems are a party of about 17 people and you want to make them more exclusive?

The only option for actual change was sf who have as much interest in going into government as coming clean about certain past activities it would seem.

Enda copying LVG there in the first picture. Noonan not quite as good looking as Giggsy though!

  6. Truth in the News

Since Kenny and Martin have failed to get a mayority of votes on two seperate
votes, they now should be disbarred from standing again for a set time, on the same
principle as the time frame in relation to votes of no confidence.
What exactly have FF and FG being up to for the last forty days, were they up
on top of Croagh Patrick or what.
Mick Wallace needs to put down a question to Noonan on matter concerning
the allegations made in respect of incidents in County Wexford as reported
in the Irish Examiner in February.

  7. some old queen

So I now have the hat shoes bag and dress for the national gay wedding. Dress is an Armani knock off from Outlet in Banbridge in case you were wondering.

I now just need some warning as to when I should book the dark spray tan?

  8. 15 cents

if the whole country got to vote on who would be actual Taoiseach, the votes for Kenny and Martin would be very few. Its all these yokels voting for their local guy fixing the road that leaves us with FG or FF. People only caring about their own backyard. the systems wrecked. one week you see Lowry lifted up on peoples shoulders after gettin voted in, the next you read about him going to court… but still holding a seat? his seat not even challenged? even tho he’s a full-on criminal .. the countrys in a hoop. but we have to still keep trying, theyd only love us to give up.

  9. Roger Gay Cement

The solution to a all of this is quite simple . We need to pass laws prohibiting the like of theft and fraud and tax evasion and bribery. Then if a person or even close associates of a person are found to be in breach of said laws then you don’t fupping vote for them. If you do vote for them then people will know you’re IRISH and will go on abusing you until you die.

  10. Truth in the News

There would be very little media interest in Lowry, if a mobile phone licience
ended up with O’Reilly rather than O’Brien, or if Lowry did not ask the EBU to
carry out a technical report that favoured the legalisation TV deflectors that
ended O’Reilly’s MMDS monoply to relay television signals, what was the Rennicks payment to Ray Burke for……?
