While previous is always a consideration, so is the severity of the crime. Shop lifting €100 one hundred times is not the same as fraudulent deception of €7.2 bn.

Most of us would be very interested in the DPP’s opinion on these sentences. Of course that won’t be made public unless they appeal. And they are sure as hell are not going to do that as an increase in their sentences is almost guaranteed.
