Coming soon to a dual carriageway near you? I could see a fleet of these on the N11.
Like Totes you could.
Magnificent beast.
I’d say very cost efficient too.
that would frighten the life out of you if you weren’t expecting it, like an eagle swooping over a rabbit
or a human foot, swooping down on a roach
“Traffic News….. Beijing in gridlock due to car with bike rack holding up line of 30 straddling buses.”
uh, trucks, vans, cars with roof boxes?
It looks like it has to run on rails anyway, why not just build a tram.
Exactly
Or close one of the two lanes to private motor vehicles and put in a bus lane
I had this idea years ago and never got further than the brainwave stage :-(
I even envisaged it looking like that.
would a bus lane move as many people?
No, obviously not considering that it is the width off three buses. This thing is a train anyway.
The problem is, if it’s run by Dublin Bus, the driver would only open one door out of the 20 on it, thus making each stop take 10 times longer than it should
What do you expect?! They only get paid 50 grand a year
Cool.
This would be a fantastic development. Probably needs a fairly straight road though. Mightn’t be much use on many of the windy Dublin arteries – but that’s just a problem for engineers to figure out.
