ask the Irish Times, they can count the number of cranes they see from their office windows and tell us whether the boom is back

Perhaps, you should ask the Irish Times when the bubble will burst?

But don’t expect an answer until the burst occurs.

Presently, we are at the peak of the economic cycle before it moves into recession next year. So to answer your question, the boom is not back.

Quite a few people on here seem to think Ireland is still in recession.

We should probably start teaching basic economics in school.

To be fair, there are a lot of us who, at the end of the month, have little-to-nothing, despite paying growing rents and living costs, and virtually no chance of being able to buy a house.

It’s one thing to be told that the recession is over, its quite another to actually feel it in your pocket and quality of living.

It’s back for ex-rugger players who sell over-rated fast food to digital millennials on Dublin bikes in Google Town.

That cocaine seems to be back in vogue again, not that it ever went away, but there was a while where it seemed rare to see it about. Now it’s fairly obviously back and back in a big way is a sure sign that the boom is back.

Yep. And the young professionals don’t mind the odd kid from Clondalkin getting shot dead in the process.

It’s back for Z listers who ‘write’ cookery and nutrition books, bought by digital marketing annoyances.

Its all offices for the Brexodous from London.

None of it is housing so God only knows where they are going to live.

In the very first line of my property economics book in college it said “if you see more than 8 cranes from your window, the economy is overheating..” – I’ll just need to find the name of the book, (it was 18 years ago..)

Some amount of borrowed money holding those cranes up I’m guessing?

We can’t be trusted. Irish people, free will and loans. We just don’t have the ability to control our greed.
