I got this message from Meteor yesterday. They are knocking two days off my plan, but the cost remains the same? Over a year this adds up to 24 extra billable days or an extra top up for them.

I can’t help but notice that it’s coinciding with the introduction of free EU roaming coming into effect in June 2017. Is it just their way of recouping their lost revenue from the extortionate roaming rates they charge customers.

Anyone?

It’s almost as if they got together at some secret meeting of mobile operators and decided they could all do it. Sure if the other’s are doing it then it’s OK.

    God I’m feeling cynical today.

That’s standard practice with regards to certain business sector in Ireland. I refer you tooil/petrol companies across the county, to insurance companies, to legal and financial services.
They do this because they know they will not be challenged if caught by the authorities because this government (past and present) will do everything for them and nothing for it’s citizens.

Hooray for Free Market Capitalism. Only commie hippies don’t want Free Market Capitalism.

My own msg arrived this morning. Anyone with Tesco mobile? They’re meant to be good.

I switched to Virgin a few months ago. It’s €5 a month (bill pay) with unlimited everything ( as far as I know). After 5 or 6 months, it becomes €15 a month (I think). No contract.

Cheers for the recommendation. Will be checking them out. Really not happy with this carry on by meteor.

        Can’t say I’m surprised though.

It has to be better than your current provider Mildred, I’ve been phoning “16” for days with no success.

Would have been more customer friendly to just increase prices rather than shrink the amount of days the topup gets you, with the same net result.

Having to topup 2 days before getting paid now becomes an issue.

So the first month its 2 days before payday, next month its 4, month after its 6. Its all less convenient for the customer, when they could have just increased the price to €22/32 & kept it at 30 days.

I just got the text from Meteor, however their website still refers to ‘top up every 30 days” bashards.
