Mike Nesbitt in the background is thinking to himself, “If I take them both out, there’s not a single unionist vote I wouldn’t get.”

Any mention of Ireland’s “defeat for humanity” in 2015? Or the lack of Vatican apology for the gazillions of abuse scandals? Or the compensation still owed to victims? Probably not, judging from the picture. Higgins shouldn’t by going anywhere near the Pope given the way the church has treated Irish citizens in recent history.

If the Pope comes and lets hope he will, he needs to take the opportunity
to tackle the heirachy that controls the Irish Catholic Church once and for all
about the way they have run the Catholic outpost, they need to made to open
up their vast hoard of files and documents that deal with clerical sex abuse
    and their finances.
