Animation: I Am Here

A deceptively simple, masterful short by Vancouver-based Irish animator Eoin Duffy (even he of The Oscar shortlisted The Missing Scarf). To wit:

Alone in an aging cosmos, a traveller’s pilgrimage comes to an end.

Best in full screen.

  1. I post things vaguely related to the image/subject

Not a single star will be left in the night.

The night will not be left.

I will die and, with me,

the weight of the intolerable universe.

I shall erase the pyramids, the medallions,

    the continents and faces.

I shall erase the accumulated past.

I shall make dust of history, dust of dust.

Now I am looking on the final sunset.

I am hearing the last bird.

I bequeath nothingness to no one.

(I’m a right barrel of laughs altogether.) is another name I used. A few days ago.
For years I commented here as ‘rory’ (with no capitals.) I’ve stated this a few times just to be upfront, but my comments are generally quite innocuous and dispersed -i’m guessing that nobody seems to be extremely bothered by them.- I have a tendancy to post links, that might jog your memory.
There was a few once off joke names, a few years ago. I can’t remember exactly what they were.

With regard not sticking in the authors name, I considered doing it, but it didn’t feel right for the feel I was going for, to put a known quantity at the end of the poem. I also didn’t want to put in the title, which I don’t like. I thought it’s a comment section and it doesn’t really matter if I did or not. I assumed nobody would care, that anyone who read it would more than likely guess it was a famous poem, judging by the fancy words and such, and if they cared enough they would google it.
I didn’t consider the possibility that after googling it they would get back to me and complain.
