Joanne Cantwell
This can’t end well.
Sharon Brady writes:
RTÉ today announced that Joanne Cantwell will anchor The Sunday Game Live following Michael Lyster’s retirement at the end of the 2018 GAA Championship.
It was confirmed earlier this week, that Michael Lyster was leaving the flagship GAA programme after 34 years at the helm.Former Dublin footballer Joanne Cantwell joined RTÉ in 2007 as a reporter on The Sunday Game Live. Over the past 11 years she has worked across numerous RTÉ Sport programmes on television and radio as a presenter, reporter and journalist including presenting The Saturday Game Live, rugby magazine programme Against The Head and the RTÉ Sports Awards on RTÉ television and Saturday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1….
But who’ll cover the hurling?

She’s very professional and extremely knowledgeable, delighted for her :)
and the hair, bertie… the hair
That too :)
Agreed, she’s been consistently excellent as a presenter and interviewer. Looking forward to seeing how she’ll go with this ‘flagship’ broadcast. No bother to her I’d imagine.
Yay for de wimen!
“What is this mature hour?”

First then six one news now this?
Is nothing sacred???
Our Lady, who art in heaven…
She might be.
Well done!!! This is a good move. Joanne is a better presenter than most of the numpties RTE have wheeled out.
She’s a very competent lady. I loved her interviews with the candidates for the presidency of the IOC.
Soon there will be no men presenting anything on RTE.
with a bit of luck soon there won’t be RTÉ
I’ve no problem with that.
Can’t think of a better choice for the role. Congrats to her.
The rhyme is of a type calling out otherwise respectable people for disrespectable actions, in this case, ogling naked ladies – the maids.
