Last week – with a voucher worth TWENTY FIVE euros at Golden Discs – we asked you to select a song YOU like to slow dance to.
You answered in your clumsy tens.
But there could be only one winner.
In reverse order then…
The Golden Horde – Friends In Time
Dylad writes:
‘When I sway closely with a special friend at a ‘dance’, I like to do so to the strains of The Golden Horde’s ‘Friends in Time’ owing to its painfully sexy nostalgia’
Charly Black – Gyal You A Parry Animal
When I away closely with a special friend at a ‘dance’ I like to do so to the strains of Charly Black remix dj brain dead – Gyal you a party Animal owing to I don’t like to be falling asleep when I’m getting my freak on….
Salvador Sobral – Amar Pelos Dois
JonesBaron writes:

Omar – There’s Nothing Like This

Roxy Music – Love Is The Drug
Smith writes:
Because of the lyrics: ‘Late that night I parked my car, Staked my place in the singles bar, Face to face, toe to toe, Heart to heart as we hit the floor’ and hoping to, ‘Lumbered up limbo down, The locked embrace, stumble round, I say go, she says yes, Dim the lights you can guess the rest’ But then I get a slap on the face for my ’70s sleazy Bryan Ferry (esque) presumption…
Winner:
LL Cool J – I Need Love
AMOS writes:
When I sway closely with a special friend at a “dance” , I like to do so to the strains of LL Cool J’s “I Need Love” owing to its killer line “You can scratch my back, we’ll get cosy and huddle, I’ll lay down my jacket so you can walk over a puddle”. Chivalry lives!!
Thanks all
Last week: Pure Slush

I’d forgotten about Omar’s There’s Nothing Like This. Great song. Apt that it’s a 12 inch version for a slow set.
Love a good 12″ myself.
Omar still making great records – I Want It To Be is one of the best 7″s of recent years. Great rump-shaker!
That’s a fierce amount of runner ups !
Well done winner winner Omar

The Kildare Street Hotel does an all night erection section Frilly? At least according to the posters outside anyways.
Have you sampled it soqie?
Tell me this now – just asking for a friend.
Are str8s generally welcome to, you know, bump and grind each other, in gay Dublin nightspots?
Haven’t been to all the queer establishments though they do seem to vary in terms of behavioral norms
Oh God you could write a social science thesis on that one but I’ll give you my (short) opinion anyways. Let’s start by saying that not gay people are the same and not all srt8 people are they same so it varies on club/pub, clientele and interaction between all.
Gay venues tend to be non homophobic spaces, rather than gay only. But, a large group of srt8 people, especially men, who are not known, would be treated with suspicion.
Srt8 people in gay company however have always been made feel welcome, in fact there is a some very active fag hags and fake jakes on the scene but, they know the score. Events targeted at same sex tend not to be of interest to srt8 people in the first place of course.
One other point, a single srt8 guy in gay company will always have great craic on the scene because the queens will be forever lining up good looking women for him to meet.
*Pictures Frilly giving it the full They Shoot Horses bit to ‘Home Thoughts From Abroad’ or ‘We’re All Alone’*
