it should be socially acceptable for a man to wear a skirt. would make a lot of sense. except for the weeing bit maybe.

            I’m thrilled you’re back.

I’ve missed your stalking of Andy. (So has she but she’d never admit it)

    it’s manky in fairness,
Don’t like that pocket detailing at all
looks very girl guidy of old

Wasn’t it the colour of the State at one stage? Hibernian blue or summink? There’s something in my head about it but I can’t be bothered using my mad google skillz.

st patrick’s blue (fittingly enough) is the official colour of Ireland – not the state, though. something to do with the Order of St Patrick. i’ll be seeing a protestant friend later. i’ll ask him.

      2. DeKloot

St Patrick’s blue. The actual shade of blue can vary but it very much remains the official colour of the State.

i think you’ll find you’re a full 60 seconds too late with that contribution, de kloot

Thanking you. I wish I could retain more than a half-arsed memory of the information I ingest.

Pockets are crooked and at a different levels.
“The new uniform design will launch in Spring 2019 and will be worn by all ground agents and cabin crew” – the lads won’t like that at all.

    1. Brother Barnabas

i’d prefer something with pleats – better facilitates the male thigh, i think
but if i had to wear that one, i’d wear it
wouldn’t be so keen on the jacket, just because it’s ugly

  3. Donk

Should have offered a young Irish designer the opportunity, possibly with some sort of competition. Louise Kennedy was down with it in 1998 along with John rocha, riverdance and Barry Egan. Things have moved on. If she was a band she’d be the Corrs

  4. Aerophile

That’s not the new uniform. The blue number was the Aer Lingus uniform for about 6 months back in the late 80’s, possibly 1989.

New uniform won’t be seen by anyone outside of the designer and company management until next year.

I felt if you teamed up the visor with the blue jacket you’d have a Rhythm Nation V Margaret Thatcher thing going on. Strong look.

  6. some old queen

So that will be the girls dressing like their grannys again but what about the men? Most male trolley dollies are queens so they’ll not be happy as an afterthought for a new look. And what about those who identify as non binary or genderqueer eh?

    Trousers for everyone I think.
