Why should the government be trying to limit any future government’s ability to change laws as they see fit?
    The arrogance of it.

That’s because when abortion is the subject once the unborn’s protection is gone under the constitution abortion can and will be expanded
Coveney knows this as do the rest
We are voting for abortion on demand

“We are voting for abortion on demand”
We most certainly are not. You’re a great man for unsubstantiated claims.

Yet another occasion when Simple Simon makes his mediocre Cabinet colleagues appear like intellectual titans and models of equanimity.

Irrespective of what the FG Cumann rank and file say, the guy’s a dud.

fair play to John O’Shea…a very decent career indeed!

what’s really happening there with the FG/Coveney meddling going regards the upcoming referendum? p-ing me off that this lot feel they can today setup limits & somehow crystallise any future matters. an 8th dot one oh in the making? does it have any real substance in which case it seems arrogant or is it all just more GE vote planning spinnery to handle the hot potato I wonder…

Coveney got a right public putting down by Varadkar. The grassroots won’t like that, especially after Leo’s performance in the US.
Boys thinking they can do mans work. Coveney, Varadkar, Harris, Murphy. The idiot square is complete.

I find it difficult to accept the collection of emails was ad hoc from the Justice Dept in respect of Charleston Tribunal/ Maurice Mc Cabe. One has to consider NOS was writing Dail answers for Frances Fitzgerald on the Mc Cabe controversy and it is highly likely justice/ garda colluded together to destroy Maurice Mc Cabe.

It’s complete bullpoo. The copout/excuse given by Charlie Flanagan that he’s put procedures in place so that it won’t happen again is laughable. Frances Fitzgerald had to resign because of this yet no one in Justice dept. held accountable & no names given to the public because the civil servents are basically the permanent government.

@Martco: I think it’s tied into a legal action being taken against Donegal Co Council by Ms Knox?

Now I’m confused and clueless. Meh. No different than 90% of the time, to be honest.

i thought the lady was happy and the gent was harry

(the sticking-your-willy-between-your-legs and lots of hip movement routine doesn’t make you a lady, harry – you know that, right?)
