The Zagato 356 Carrera Speedster – a hardtop (and coupé) recreation (based on photometric records) of a car originally ordered by Ferdinand Porsche for French racing driver Claude Storez in 1957 that was subsequently destroyed in a 1959 crash.

Nine examples of each have been made.

All 18 have been sold.

The coupe reminds me of the infamous James Dean car but I’m not really into cars so I might be way off…

We’re getting heftier, looking for screens, refrigeration, heated seats – no one wants beauty and purity of purpose anymore, just a living room on wheels.

I’m seeing bits of db4, dino, xke, 356, karmann ghia and even a little e-type.
