Good to see. It’s a very Irish trait to leave things until the final hour

Great to see but why oh why do people leave it until the last minute? There is no way they all have a reason for it. Voting is important. Get registered and stay registered.
In fairness, some of these voters are newly eligible. Plus it didn’t help that the checktheregister website was actually down for a number of days. Maybe some have a particular interest in this particular referendum but not general, local or EU elections? I think it’s great to see, even if right before the deadline.
Cue my zillionth check of checktheregister.ie to make sure I’m still on it. Phew!
My OH registered last minute.
However, it seems that our apartment is in Fingal despite the address being Santry and Santry being Dublin City Council. Not sure if she’ll be put on the register or not!
