Those rats are just indestructible! I bet they survived the cancer too…
Can you imagine how insane the person was who put this poster together?

Jesus. Imagine the bad luck. You’re aborted by Fake Nurse Noel with a hand blender, bits of you going home in his pocket. Then just as you’re off to the incinerator you find out you’ve also got cancer.

There was a guy sitting outside a restaurant in phibsborough yesterday wearing a t-shirt with similar nonsense on it, I felt like stopping to challenge him but thought better of it…I assume he put these up.

I blame the HSE myself. Community care just does not work for some people.

Moreover , bcpinstitute research is published in issuesinlawandmedicine which publishes articles with a consistent ideological viewpoint on abortion (and other subjects, like assisted suicide), while simultaneously muting its anti-abortion ties.
Issues appears to be a tool created, edited, published, and disseminated by the anti-choice movement—something the journal does not advertise.

      Excellent piece on them here

Aye. I’m not sure you’d be able to have a reasonable debate with anyone who thinks like that.

This information has been around for some time, apparently the sudden end of pregnancy and crash of pregnancy hormones can leave you predisposed to breast cancer. It would therefore also affect women who experience miscarriage also.

      1. Karina

There is a high occurance of breast cancer in my family and one of my relatives was told this a few years ago, ive also read about it over the years, also the miscarriage link to it. I do hope that the latest studies are right, that would be good to know and good news for alot of women that had that extra worry. Thank you for posting the the link.

        From SOQ’s link:
        Conclusion
The topic of abortion and breast cancer highlights many of the most challenging aspects of studies of people and how those studies do or do not translate into public health guidelines. The issue of abortion generates passionate viewpoints in many people. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women aside from skin cancer; and breast cancer is the second leading cancer killer in women. Still, the public is not well-served by false alarms. At this time, the scientific evidence does not support the notion that abortion of any kind raises the risk of breast cancer or any other type of cancer.

I don’t know, freedom of speech is an important thing but people making ridiculous claims under its protection is a different matter.
Sadly there is no realistic way to stop this. One just has to rely on their own critical thinking skills and make up their own mind.
It’s also worth noting that the ridiculous claims made also hurt those making reasonable complaints about abortion. They muddy the water and all of them end up getting blindly dismissed.
Thankfully another week or two this nonsense will all be over.
Until then it’s popcorn time, things are just starting to get tasty.
