One good thing about Seamus Heaney is that during his lifetime people of all backgrounds attended his poetry readings – and loved to see him on the Late Late Show being himself and not some pretentious persona. Anybody lucky to bump into him on the street, in a pub, at a literary conference or at an airport thought he was a really nice fellow. May he thrive with sonorous loquacity in the company of poetic saints like Saint Francis Assisi.
