The opening weekend the ‘Listen Now Again’ exhibition of memorabilia from the life of Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney at the new Cultural and Heritage Centre within Bank of Ireland’s College Green complex. The exhibition is free and will remain in the new space until at least 2022 .

One good thing about Seamus Heaney is that during his lifetime people of all backgrounds attended his poetry readings – and loved to see him on the Late Late Show being himself and not some pretentious persona. Anybody lucky to bump into him on the street, in a pub, at a literary conference or at an airport thought he was a really nice fellow. May he thrive with sonorous loquacity in the company of poetic saints like Saint Francis Assisi.
School kids love Heaney. So do most adults. so do I.
