Here
I can’t believe this isn’t causing ructions
the main retail thoroughfare in the country is being barricaded off
parking in the North Inner City is suspended
access to James, Crumlin Childrens and the Coombe
and what I call the Industrial Belt, Kylemore Ballyier
no Luas
for what exactly
to facilitate Prayers
he’s driving a Skoda ffs
its not like he’s travelling in a convoy of armored tanks and flatbeds carrying nukes and bio-weapons
Croke Park deal with full houses all the time
same with Phoenix Park
this Nope On Tour has getting out of hand afaic
time to get a grip and tell them to get over themselves
It’ll be worse down in Knock, where they’ll have snipers for his holiness’s protection. As if anyone bar some Ian Paisley-esque loony would bother their hoop trying to take him out, hitman style.
Croke Park copes with 80,000 people, and this involves road closures:
Russell Street/Jones Road
Lower Drumcondra Road /Whitworth Road
Lower Drumcondra Road /Richmond Road/ Botanic Avenue
Ballybough Road / Luke Kelly Bridge
Ballybough Road / North Strand Road
Summerhill / North Circular Road
The pope’s gig is expecting 500,000 people – that is more than SIX simultaneous Croke Park’s worth of people.
This is just a small example of why Cian is consistently one of the most useful posters on this site.
get a room
I’ve lived in the area for 40 years and have NEVER seen any portion of Drumcondra Rd, Botanic Ave, Whitworth Rd or North C Road closed off for matches at any level.
And I’ve never seen O’Connell street Henry Street etc limited either
And btw
Even AI day you can drive the Dorset Street Drumcondra Road route to the Airport
Like I said
Get a grip
Are all those streets just closed to traffic or also closed to pedestrians?
Got the maps yesterday in the post.
Couldn’t believe the Garda map; a glossy print job of a pathetically low-resolution image. Impossible to make out the text. What was the point?
Ha, yes, the low res map is impossible to decipher – really crap piece of work. It’s going to be Storm Francis for me; stock up and stay indoors. Either that or ABSCOND.
It’s designed to stop any protest in the city.. nonetheless, I’ll be using my holy dope tickets for free public transport for the day..!!
How is it designed to stop protests?
Whats its all about is to limit protest in the Center of Dublin and deny access
and the same goes for travelling south from Knock Airport to make sure that
as few as possible get to anything in Tuam…..McQuaid is alive and well and
seems to have rose from the dead in the last couple of weeks and a resurrection
featuring Dev is on the cards for next Sunday week
Is he calling in to the PRO Cathedral? I can’t think of any reason to close the city centre for a Phoenix Park gig.
