Dunne & Crescenzi, North Frederick Street, Dublin; Leo Varadkar as a student

During his Trinity days, Varadkar often organised social events for Young Fine Gael, at which he would insist on “good quality wine and canapes“.

One night in the Dunne and Crescenzi restaurant, an unnamed female ex-minister caught him taking some beer from the bar.

Instead of apologising, Varadkar launched an attack on her personal performance. “It was carnage,” says an eye-witness.

“The former minister was not at all pleased and would remark about the incident for years to come.”

Whether true or not its irrelevant. That we actually have this privileged posh twonk at the helm – despite everything that has happened in this country over the last decade – is testament to how rudderless we are as a society in general. Did that happen? We’ll never really know. Would it surprise me! Not in the slightest.

The privileged posh twonks have always been at the helm, even when they had bogger accents.

        Get involved then.

BS producing an article from his student days is total bs. Click bait not com.

I definitely never stole an entire bottle of whiskey that time we had out office xmas party in Teelings. Nope.

that’s not the point of the story – it’s that when confronted about a situation where he was actively and knowingly doing wrong, there was no admitting it, remorse, introspection or even second thought – just attack and by the sounds of it, ruthless and personal. That’s a dangerous trait

What does it reveal? A drunk student took a bottle, and then got annoyed when caught? This explains character?
Jesus wept, is that all you got ?

As an aside, I doubt you’re the world’s biggest ranter. You haven’t met me and my lady friends on a night out.

What do ye be ranting about though? I mean aside from the fact that Himself won’t wipe down the bloody draining board I mean is that TOO MUCH to ask?

Me too although it’s more of a cable running between neighbours bared up back windows. Very effective.

Any- and everything. Perceived slights. People we’ve read about on the Daily Mail. Other people who are out who annoy us by just being there. God, I love ranting.

  3. Et Tusla, Brute?

Is this the best you can do? Hardly #metoo material is it? More like #méféin desperation.

Name that former minister time. Not difficult.

    Good God!

I demand a full independent judicial enquiry and compensation for all those tragically affected by this latest outrage.

Varadkar is utterly devoid of any values whatsoever.

His Laissez Faire attitude is a bane as he is utterly terrified to do anything that might make him look bad.

Can anyone give me a list of his actual achievements in politics outside of him appointment head of several ministries, in which he did very little if anything of note and his appointment as Taoiseach?

The CA was set up (in my opinion) to kick the can down the road again for a while. Leo, within the first 48 hours or something of becoming Taoiseach, said there would be a referendum, and a few months later we had one.

          1. Yep

Fair enough, think we just read it differently. Once the CA was established the ref was inevitable IMO.

He’s certainly an odd fish. He doesn’t do small talk, or empathy and was a bit hit and miss as a minister. I thought he’d crash and burn as Taoiseach but it hasn’t happened yet.
