I’m a pilot and this is actually standard practice for this type of precipitation (i.e. drizzle, rain, etc.) and any rag (pants, old T-shirt) will do the job. However, in the event of snow, ice pellets, hail, or ice crystals, a credit card or hairdryer would be necessary.
